I did. At one time, Nikon had the Nikon House at Rockerfeller Center in NYC. It was a wonderful
showroom overlooking Zuess. The had every lens, camera and Nikon attachment you could think
of. They also had a FREE Nikon user's camera clinic where the technician would check your camera's
shutter & light meter's performance(no repair/just check) but it was a wonderful idea. They also
had the Nikon School classes there too!
You were able to handle ALL the lens, and you were even able to attach the lens to your Nikon
camera with the provision you didn't click the shutter.
Getting back to the 13mm f5.6 lens. It was truley a WORK OF ART. It was HUGE and heavy but
it did deliver exactly what Nikon said. There wasn't another lens like OR will there ever will be.
Another story about this lens will break you heart. I went to a Camera show in Melville, NY
many years ago. A dealer had set up a table where on top of his table he had a 3 tiered shelf.
At top that shelf he pearched this 13mm f5.6 lens. I had passed by an noticed it but continue
on. I was about 6 feet away when I heard a CRASH. Someone had bumped into the dealers
table and knocked off the lens. It crashed to the ground. The only thing louder than the crash
was the moan from the dealer who owned it. It's a true story!
