Hello,
I have a chrome, red dot, Nikon F (serial # 6600186) that has accumulated dirt from usual usage over the years. What would be the best way to clean this without damaging the dull chrome finish?
Thanks, Mike

The best cleaner i have ever come across for cleaning just about anything (cameras, lens, lap tops, screens, etc.) is a 50/50 mix of household ammonia (non
foaming/without added soap if you can find it) & hydrogen peroxide. Caution!: ammonia with soap will initially produce gas when mixed, so keep in a strong
glass bottle with a good secure cap; leave the cap off/loose until it stops gassing & open with caution until it stops! Shaking the bottle without the
cap (seal with hand!!) will help speed up this process. Just be careful!! Try it, i was amazed & have been using it for years!! Use sparingly; a tooth
brush helps on engraved lettering, rubber grips etc. Ammonia has a strong odour so don't get too close unless you have cold!
