EPOI & Minolta |

|
Gentlemen, is it true that EPOI imported Minolta equipment as well? I´ve run into a Minolta Autopack slide projector which is identical to the
Nikomat/Nikkormat projector. Everything is interchangeable, even the remote control. The lens on the Minolta is a P-Rokkor 2.8/4 inch/100mm, without any
indication where it was made (no ´made in japan´). Both this Rokkor and the Pro-Nikkor 3.5/4 inch/100mm lens are the only lenses of those manufacturers I know
whith focal length in inches. Did J. Ehrenreich had a lot to say in the Minolta factory as well? ´Joseph the Great´ must have been an influential person in
Tokyo. See for details at my website.
Thanks and regards, Nico |

Hi Nico; I know that in Canada in the 1970's and perhaps 1980's, the Nikon distributor, Anglophoto Ltd. (Montreal) used to also distribute Minolta so there
appears to be a link (in Canada anyway) between Nikon and Minolta....at least for sharing the same distributer. I can't really relate this linkage for
the US based EPOI.

EPOI sold Bronica, Komura, but not Minolta.

Thanks Mike & Fred,
Since Ehrenreich (EPOI) ordered Sears or Sawyers to produce a (N'mat) slide projector, why did he accept Minolta - as his competitor - to come with an identical projector? Or was Minolta first and did Joseph ask for a copy? Regards, Nico |

I had never noticed that there was a Minolta Sawyers projector. There were not many alternatives to the Kodak at the time.
