The pictures speak for themselves but before I make a complete international idiot of myself in the international scene, I just want to double check with you guys whether this is the real stuff and roughly what price level I should be looking at. I did my research about 12 years ago when I bought it but I think I better be on the safe side and check with experts here rather than being hammered later on. I would want to sell the body alone though it comes with a black 50/1.4 lense that has a single line scratch on the front optics. To the best of my knowledge in good working condition. Finder is clean,no fog. All functions are working correctly. The vulcanite is completely intact. Cosmetic shows some minor signs of wear, slight brassing on the neckstrap hooking areas and edges. No dent and ding. Curtain in good condition.The shutter fires correctly at all speed settings. Thanks for reading and appreciate any form of help that you guys can render. Almost impossible to sell on eBay unless buyers know you. Personally with those new photos, I would trust buying your camera on eBay.

If you need more info and photos, please feel free to let me know. As advised by Vysk, I have checked around for the prices, and the prices are quite a heartstopper in some cases. I am looking for a honest and sincere transaction whereby we can factor out the whatever commission, premium, fee and whatsoever unnecessary fees and expenses that may occur but insurance and secured shipping are a must of course. I would appreciate if you could make me a reasonable offer. I am definitely not looking at those heartstopping prices and auction prices. If you know of any private sale with a known transacted price, feel free to let me know.(If you remember the initial post I made, I came here looking for an estimation of the value ) Hope you can help me in this aspect. Thanks in advance. You have to consider, those HEART-BEAKING prices were realized by clean cameras in specialty auctions, some including the box!! Ebay tends to be more realistic! I estimate your camera between $3-4K The lens is not all black. Doesn't change the price!! Kiu

These bodies alone went as high as $18,000 15 years ago, but recent prices are indeed well sub 8k, even for nice examples. I sold four of them in 2005 averaging about 5500 with lenses. Man, Ebay really good at making money here and there. Placing a reserve price is also no joke. I did that and upon digging further, realized that there's a lot of expenses involved. Hence, I did away with the reserve. Thanks for the info Nikon Kiu and Nikon HS Webmaster. But with my rating and review like a school on holiday (empty ), I won't be surprised if nothing comes out of it. But I have to start somewhere somehow.

Hello, might I ask your basis for this hypothesis? I am new to collecting and have recently started with the F. Someone else said the same thing to me about my Fs but I can't see why. Digital photography has no relevance to collecting of course... and the F mount turns 50 next year. I think such events are a boon, and you never know what will happen with the market. But then again, maybe Nikon rangefinders are not destined to become more popular but F collecting will. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts.

Posts: 949 (02/27/2008 10:09 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	prices did not change when the sp turned 50, the prices on the F in the 640xxxx range fluctuate almost daily, the 645xxxx to 69xxxxx range is stable $150 -250 range, the 70-73 range bounces around. it all depends on if you are looking for that true 50 year old camera in 2009. then you need to look for the 6400001 to 6405000 range. and you will have to come up with $$$$.

Well perhaps my statement was a bit severe, however prices were so high in the '90s it is hard to imagine how they will ever go that high again, they would have to more than double. Just before eBay collectors for some reason just went nuts! Then they dropped when it appeared eBay would make everything available. Now they are creeping up, since very little, outside of japan, is available in stores. So frankly only death and boredom will provide new equipment, usually at auction, or through lucky dealers who buy from the family. Collecting is now much changed. Prices will hold for some time, but sooner or later the bottom will drop out. Right now they are certainly keeping up with inflation, but that is about all. I do not actually have a crystal ball. Nikon F collecting however started hot, but just kind of died on the vine, except for early bodies, and a few rare exceptions.
