This kit looks complete with the lens and case. I know the seller has offered and sold a few of these new cameras,all are being shipped from Japan directly,although the seller is down-under. Interesting point about this auction: Starting bid was AU$0 .99 with no reserve. Current bid is right under US $1000 I am interested in seeing what this one does Kiu

This set seems to have closed at 2672 USD-what do you guys think. Is this reasonable, a bargain, or too much. What does the collectibility of the black reissue S3 look like. At 2000 units, I would think its outlook is good for future value as a collectible. Regards, Mike

It is a reproduction, which will forever brand it as not very valuable. All of its value is related to its original price only, and as you have most likely noticed it is going down from that price. Reproductions of anything seldom increase in value, but can hold value. Leica's recent success with their reproduction MP camera is a good example of a price holding rather high. I am selling mine soon, so I am very glad to see this is going as high as it is. I was afraid when Kiu posted this mine was going to have dropped really below what I paid. Take note, the statment above comes from the Nikon Historical Society's Webmaster. Obviously, to him, a reproduction is not even considered a collectible! Why, Fred has seen dozens of "Olympic S3s".... Now, to an everyday collector like you and me, this is a HELL of a collectible, after-all it's even rarer than the original! And it's new!! In The Box!!! Made by the same factory the original came from!!!! Almost 50 years later!!!!!!!! And it sells for less than $3K on a good day.....I know, I know, the price has been going down, but I have seen them do $3400!! I think it's a hell of a bargain, considering the re-issue Leica MP, nothing like the original, sells for as much without a lens! Used!!! No lens !!!!! The Nikon D3 costs twice as much!!! NO LENS!!!!
