Most likely it's another collector fake. No one, would reverse engineer something like this, and EPOI would not inscribe E.P.O.I. M39 to Nikon adaptor sells for about $20 on eBay.

I like it.
I'll bet it is more reliable than a CV Bessa L . |

Folks,
Collectors are a strange breed indeed.

Why is it the real thing?
Legit as a working F dummy? I wouldn't spend a lot of money on something 'rare' if I can easily make one myself. |

As far as I recall, somewhere in one of Braczko's book there is a picture of a similar body with a 640xxxx serial number.

It would be more believeable if it's a S3 is fitted with an early F reflex housing.
Down grading a perfectly good F into a M39 camera without a range finder just doesn't make sense. Maybe EPOI wanted to introduce a cheap camera without a coupled range finder? S3-mat? If so, why not ask Nikon to make it. To prove a point, that there's no market for such a beast? Or is this a prototype cheapo early microscope camera? Without any paperwork, it's hard to prove one way or another. The simple modification and late serial number of this camera do raise my suspicion. |
