In cleaning out my "Nikon" closet, I've turned up things that I haven't seen in years! It's sort of been like an archeological (sp?)
dig. Anyway, one item was a black Nikon (leather-like) soft case with zippers along the lower half. It is maroon velvet lined and when I placed a Nikon F
inside (with standard prism), it was a bit of a tight fit to do up the side zippers.
Do you think this case was for some other model than a Nikon F? The inscription on the nose of the case simply says "NIKON".
Any thoughts on this strange case? Are they quite uncommon? Were they for the F? This is the only such case that I've seen....
Cheers,
Mike
PS- After another look with a loupe I found a stamped "CS-4 Japan"
