I would like to list some of my photo equipment on ebay but I've never sold on ebay before so I don't quite know how to proceed. In other posts on this
forum it's been claimed that it has almost become impossible to sell on ebay without accepting Paypal. But I've read elsewhere that it's unwise to
accept Paypal for payments in excess of $200. (I'm not sure why.) One of the items I will be listing is my Nikon F2H Titanium Highspeed, complete with all
of the original components and cartons; just as it left the factory. So we're clearly talking in excess of $200 for many of these items.
I've also heard that payments for more expensive items (how expensive?) should be placed in escrow.
We own a business that has merchant accounts with all of the credit card companies so that would be an option. We deal with folks all the time who we've never met and have never had an issue. But trust does seem to very much be a factor on ebay. And finally, since I've never sold on ebay before, I would be starting with NO rating.
