Hi there, is there any way to find out how shots have been fired on a D100? Thank you! John

No, I don't think you can check this yourself (like you can with current models). But you can get it checked by a Nikon service center.

John, Click on the image and check properties..... Right click!
Are you checking Images directy from the card? What exactly do you mean when you ask "How" Shots have been taken? Are you looking for the Fstop and shutter speed? ISO setting? Kiu

John, if you want to know more about the images taken with a digital camera you can have a look into the exif files, shown in Nikon View. There are some other
software programms like Rawview and Opanda Powerexif, giving more details about the image, camera etc. If you want to check the total number of shutter
activations you'll need special software. Any official Nikon service point should have this software to look into the camera's internal database.

Thank you, the total number of shutter activations is what I am looking for.
Thank you! John |

Hi John, there is a freeware software (for Windows XP only) on the net - preview extractor - but it doesn´t work with all digital cameras. If you download it
and choose ´shutter count´ and ´run´ you have to enter an image file and - if you´re lucky - it will give the shutter count. Be carefull to download free
software from the net, check it with Norton and/or Hitman Pro.
Good luck! nico |

I have just went to that web site and look at that software, it will work on most Nikon Ds BUT D100, D1H, D1X or D1!! Just my luck!! Oh well, the search goes
on... Thank you anyway, Nico!!!

You can stop searching. You cannot check this on a D100 yourself. Unlike later models, the shutter count isn't recored in the EXIF header. You'll need
assistance from a Nikon service center.
