The production department has been in touch with me last week. So they are working on it. I will let everyone know when I have the proofs. WES

I received a letter from McFarland Publishers today indicating that the proofs of the book are on their way to me, and that they plan to go to the printer in
about four weeks. This is provided I can get the proofing and index completed in a timely fashion-which I certainly intend to do. So I may have some additional
news in early January. May all these good matters reach a good end. WES

I have the proofs and I am working on the index. Everything looks good except for the placement of a few pictures, but I may have to just live with that. WES

I got the proofs back to McFarland in good time, but when they were preparing the book for press, they discovered that they could not "read" a third
of the pictures off one of the CDs I sent them. So I had to burn a new CD and mail it to them last week. I have gotten word that they have the new CD and can
read the images on it, so maybe the last hurdle is crossed. How long now? It depends on where they choose to print the book. It they use their own printer
across the street, it could be in a week or so. If they go elsewhere, it will take longer. I will lt everyone know when I know. WES

I received a note from my editor today indicating that, yes, the book is at the printers and they expect copies to be done by February 8th. So I may have my
own copies by the middle of next month. They should be shipping review copies and pre-orders about the same time. So for all of you wonderful people who
invested in a promise, I hope your wish is fulfilled in a few weeks. Cheers, WES

advance-ordered copies, McFarland has indicated that your copies will be shipped ASAP. Please let me know when you get your copies.

Hi Wes,
I got my copy of your book today from McFarland. It looks great! I'll be reading it through this weekend. Regarding the cover pic, I have the original guarantee card, and the date is January 29, 1951. So your "late 1950 early 1951" is spot on! Camera is 6092939, lens is 50080786. Should have given you the date with the picture files, but I was kind of excited about your using it, and didn't think of it at the time. Anyway, thanks again, nice job, well done. Jim Kelly |
