I have been contacted by a guy who posed a good question...one that I couldn't answer with any accuracy. Perhaps the combined power of this group can shed some light on the following question:
Q- At approximately what serial number did the Nikon S-3 change from the cloth shutter to the Titanium shutter? Rotoloni, in his 1984 book, stated that the transition to Titanium shutters on the S-3 occurred after the introduction of the Nikon F in June, 1959. No serial number info has come my way.
Can any of the members get us close to this transition date, serial number wise, to the beginning of the use of Titanium shutters on the S-3?
