In order to keep the plastic/metal(?) surrounding the eyepiece on my S3 from futher scratching up my left eyeglass lens, I thought that siliconing or double-sided taping or Crazy-Gluing an appropriately sized, black rubber gasket to this surround would solve the problem.
The only thing I need to know before doing this is, whether access to the inards of the viewfinder system is through the rear, outside of the camera, or strictly from the inside of the body. And are there any other problems I could cause by doing something like this, that anyone can warn or advise me about? I don't want to do anything that might prevent, if the need to fix/re-align/ rotate the tires or whatever, ever arises.

You know, my Wife thinks that outline image that I've got for my Avatar, really does look like me.
