I just finished cleaning aperture blades on three lenses. It was an easy job, and they came out great. I also got to cosmetically clean up the lenses while I
had them mostly apart. Got down to only about an hour a lens. So now I'm having a problem on lens #4- It's a Nikon (NOT Nippon Kogaku Japan) Nikkor-S
50mm f1.4 lens. Serial number is 1089256. It was produced just before the Nikkor-SC version.
Anyway, It looks very much like my earlier lenses, cosmetically, but the focus ring isn't held on by the three black-painted screws, and I can't see how to get it off. I got the optical group/focus helix out by taking off the ring of big screws around the lens mount (which aren't there on the earlier lenses), but I can't get any further. If I crank it out to closest focus, I can see half of the setscrew for the filter ring, but not enough to get it out..... Help! What am I missing??? Thanks a million! Jim
