AF TC's TC-16 unknown types?

Books I have mention: TC-16 for the F3-AF camera TC-16A for early Nikon AF camera's (and some digitals) Google searches also turn up: TC-16AS TC-16B Is this just a mis-spelling or are different names used in different markets? TC-16 for F3AF TC-16A for using non AF primes to act as AF, with limited capabilities. I have both and I know the TC-16 is bigger than the TC-16A I have never seen the others you listed. However there is a TC-14B and C and E I like to know too.... Kiu

Posts: 220 (12/13/2007 09:21 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	if you google for nikon TC 16 B you get some sites, but it is not about a 16B, but a 16A, there is no such thing as 16 B nor 16AS the same if you look at the picture on googles Nikon TC 16AS, it is the 16B one site gives 16B, but this is from a company dealing in remote controls for video, and they have also TC 190, so as they mark some brands, among others nikon, that is why you got this if you google "nikon tc 16B" you will find nothing, so always use " " than google searches only for the whole combination, if you google just like this : nikon TC 16 than the system looks for all three parts of it, in all possible combinations helps ??

Posts: 18 (12/14/2007 06:29 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Gentlemen, The plot thickens: I have found the following in the D3 (and D300) user manuals: Manual D3 UK, 13-12-2007: The following accessories and non-CPU lenses can NOT be used with the D3: • TC-16AS AF teleconverter I have looked into all google searches I found (english language only), no luck, all seem to refer to the TC-16 or TC-16A converters. The first one came out with the F3AF, and was only for the F3AF. Then, concurrent with the N2020, Nikon released the TC-16A. Nikon has used some confusing nomenclature regarding the two. I think TC-16AS refers to the F3AF version." and in another post: "TC-16AS is Nikon's term for TC-16A. S-type lenses are simply AIS lenses." (No, the first sentence doesn't make much sense, but "S" as in "AIS" sounds plausible.)
