Since we have a lot of knowledgeable new blood, I am wondering if anyone has collected the cable release specifically made for the 350 short mount.
This lens was semi auto design, meaning that it was focussed wide open, then the user would tap a button and it would close down for shooting. Nikon showed it with a cable release that would pre-release the lens, then trip the camera shutter. Then all the user would have to do is reset the iris, before the next image, or just shoot again if re-focus was not needed while wide open.
So anyone have one?

For the record this is an odd lens, despite being short mount it was marketed for the Nikon F, was sold in a Nikon F box. By the time it hit the market in 1959, Nikon was releasing the F.
In the photo below, you can see the handle used to set the iris, and the iris release button clearly. This is a photo of a new 350 I owned. They did not sell-out, and were of the easiest lenses in short mount to find in unused condition, in NYC shops. For many years this was the only long telephoto Nikon F lens other than the 200 (1961) and the rare 1000 (59), for the F. In '64 Nikon introduced a number of long lenses including a 300, 400, 600, 800.
