I realize that one would have to arbitrarily decide what these pieces are, and a what point the number of pieces produced becomes sufficiently low for the item to merit inclusion on the list.
While I've shot with Nikon SLRs since 1978, and now a rangefinder as well since last December, being a user rather than a collector, my knowledge of Nikon Collectibles is fairly superficial.
What prompted this curiosity is the figure of 14,000 I've seen for the production of original S3's. Even if this is somewhat incorrect, I still find it rather interesting knowing that in the Entire World, there were only roughly that many produced, and I own and use one of them. This is not something I can say about anything else I've ever posessed. And while this fact doesn't give me any desire to try and collect any of the other rare bits, I still find the concept interesting enough to search out the information.
Anyone?
Please and thank you.
