Nikrick is correct. I have 3 such cases....one which includes a complete Nikon Super Zoom-8 movie camera outfit with accessories (remote release mechanism, etc.). They are the exact dimmensions as Spud indicated but that material is sure not leather...but rather a man-made shiny black plastic! The camera and case date from 1967.

It looks to be leather with a dark felt-like interior. The inside has two sections - long and narrow ones that run the full length of the bag.
The bag measures 10" wide x 5.5" tall and 4.5" wide

Any idea what model this is and what it might be for?
