I would like to list some of my photo equipment on ebay but I've never sold on ebay before so I don't quite know how to proceed. In other posts on this
forum it's been claimed that it has almost become impossible to sell on ebay without accepting Paypal. But I've read elsewhere that it's unwise to
accept Paypal for payments in excess of $200. (I'm not sure why.) One of the items I will be listing is my Nikon F2H Titanium Highspeed, complete with all

I've discussed this several times with well known ebay sellers (even NHS-members). Most of them are afraid of claims from possible former owners. I am a
serial number freak and like to know the serial number; often a picture gives enough info, but sometimes the seller doesn't want to disclose it. Strange
isn't it? If you know where your gear comes from nobody has te be afraid. I refuse to buy an item if I don't know the number.

Thank you, Sover and nikonnl, for your kind and insightful advice. I will try to follow your recommendations.

Is it just my imagination, or does there seem to be some reticence about disclosing serial numbers of Nikon components on ebay? And if so, why? I notice that
serial numbers are always specified for items in the Westlicht auctions, but not on ebay. It even seems that ebay sellers attempt to avoid disclosing serial
numbers. Serial numbers would mean nothing to me, but might be...

Hi, if you are new on ebay and start with selling an item like the set you mentioned, serious buyers/collectors will be reserved. Give the item a very decent
presentation with clear pictures etc., and don´t hide yourself behind obscure email addresses. Give serious sellers the opportunity to call you for more
details. Insist (in your offer) that everything you sell will be shipped insured.

Tip: start your listing of a 10-day auction on a thursday evening, so people have two weekends to...
