(question and answer) Is it possible to recoat mirrors surfaces?

I've a mint looking prism finder for an F camera, but one of the mirrors inside shows some slight flaking or corrosion at the corners. Is it possible to
have mirror surfaces refinished? Or easier to swap in an unblemished mirror from another finder? Should I just swap the shell onto a cosmetically challenged
finder instead? Is it possible to use any mirrors from the F's metered finders, or any F2 finders? Thanks.

Basically not impossible but not easy to do. The mirrors are all glued together, and were mirrored before gluing. I know of no one who is doing this.

Best to find another prism and switch the parts.
