Match means they will not be matching finish or exact thickness to the original. Shutterspeed dial will fit.

The film advance lever is much more problematic. I have discussed this before, on the forum, but the bottom line is that cameras built before the F do not have the same lever assembly, internally.

To use an F lever on an S3 usually requires changing the internal gear train. This is very easy to check. You remove the counter cover (three tiny screws on...

I'm not sure what you mean by "match". Will they fit an S3 is really what I'm inquiring about.
And not just the AR ring. What about the shutter speed dial and film advance assembly (the exterior part)?

Ah the AR ring.

They are interchangeable -- HOWEVER -- they will not likely match. The AR ring supplied as parts for the F was thinner than the one from the S3, and looks different. They newer F style will match later SPs.

Ah yes, that is interchangeable with the F.

The "pylon" for lack of a better word is the cylindrical structure that stands above the top of the camera and has the shutter button in its centre.

I think yes. Can you define what the "pylon" is?

As for the shutter speed dial, you have to find the correct version of dial, for the number of screws.

It's been a while since I've posed a stupid question, so here's one for today. Are the shutter button "pylons" and button assembly that it holds, as well as the shutter speed dials on the F and the S3 interchangeable? Please and thank you.
