			<description><![CDATA[ Jun Miki&#39;s Nikon I was probably the first black-painted Nikon. He had it painted at the factory sometime in late 1950 or early 1951.

The &quot;Life&quot; Nikon that started this thread did belong to Carl Mydans, and appears to be a special &quot;press&quot; or &quot;Life&quot;version, but it
would not have been one of the first twenty that were ordered by Life in the fall of 1950. It is probably one ordered by Life in 1951. Carl was still using
Contaxes when he arrived back in Japan... ]]></description>
