Simple question. I just bought this lens from eBay and found the aperture prong is missing. Is this a problem? I mainly use FM3a, F3 may be D200 in future.

<p> Most probably it was removed because it was being used with an AF camera, the ear prongs would &quot;catch&quot; the lower prism housing on some of the AF
cameras.

If you really have to have it right,I believe you can get the part from Nikon.

If you need such a prong for a lens that lost one or has a damaged one, it is obvious that you cannibalize a lens that doesnot need it.Most of these lenses
