How do you store your collectibles?

Hope you are all well. Just wanted to check how do you store your expensive collectibles? The options that I could think of are as follows:-

1) Humidity controlled (electrical) cabinet

2) Plenty of silica in a normal box

3) In a display cabinet

4) In the maker's box with silica

5) In a security storage

I am trying to find information on the type of paint(s) and the process by which paint(s) were applied to the black Nikon microscopes vintage 1960's - 1970's (model Sk-E). I have several that I'd like to completely refurbish. I have automotive painting experience and have neccessary equipment to strip old paint off and apply high quality finishes. I want to use as much original material as possible. I do not want to...

photo.net (forums and galleries) is another useful and informative site.

I also visit nikonians.org and nikoncafe.com on a regular basis, although not as often as some other sites. If I'm in the mood for some "random" surfing/reading, I like to visit nikonlinks.com

I bought a new TC20E II, wit nr 40xxxx and see there is an addtional marking on it :

a figure 10 in a kind of cercle, the cercle is made by two round arrows

this sign is NOT on those with nrs 2xx and 3xx

does any one knows what the meaning is ?

86mm hood?

Can anyone recommend an 86mm hood to fit the 72mm and 77mm Nikon polarizer filters. I can't even locate an aftermarket one. Since one of the lenses is a 28-200 Nikkor and the other a 10-20 Sigma, I need wide angle. The HN-13 is strictly tele. Any solution would be very welcome. Thanks,

I've got a Nikkor 300 2.8 ED AIS manual focus telephoto that I purchased used years ago from Canadian Press News Service, and while I always use it with the hood attached, I'm still concerned that the "naked" front element is susceptable to potential impact damage. However, it appears that the lens has no provision for a screw in front filter. Is this correct, that is, was a version of this lens made without front threads to accept a filter, or am I missing a part? Please...

I am keen to know the price of a 13mm lens, rarity & its image quality by personal experience. According to Roland Vink only few hundreds were made over a 2-3 decade!! I know two of these lenses were sold recently at Christie's for USD 5800.00 each. Appreciate any opinion & personal experience of this beauty.

I have a lens in a wooden box. It looks like it's a copy lens. Plate on box says Apo-NIKKOR 1:9 f=480mm NIPPON KOGAKU MADE IN JAPAN. Fitted box has lens with hinged lens cap, 5 metal plate with small aperture that are on a locking pivot, 4 metal gel filter holders??? and a signed certificate. What do I have? 18 months ago I wanted to get one of these lenses from B & H for ~1500.00. When I rang them they told me to ring in a week when they get new stock. Now I regret for not ringing!!!

I am keen for a MIB or LNIB of this lens with papers if possible. Please email me (csmail@bigpond.net.au) if you got any good news. I am also looking for a similar example of Noct but I think finding a 28mm will have better chance!
