Nikon 1 being sold at camera show

Hi group;

I heard a strong rumor that a Nikon 1 will be showing up at the Aprl 20th Vancouver Camera show. I have no further details regarding serial number, lens or condition....just that it could be showing up for sale at the camera show. I thnik the owner is bringing it to the show becuase of the NHS presense. I happen to know the guy, and had no idea that he had this camera.

Could this be another incentive to come out to Con-11?

Any WTB requests for the anticipated Swap Meet?

I might offer these items, and would be interested to hear from what items others are looking for, or offering.

Of interesting items, I may bring to sell:
- user grade 50/1.1 internal mount, plenty of cleaning marks on front and back lens surfaces (only a mother would love this lens)
- mint grade 50/1.1 external mount
- EX+ Nikon F 641xxxx chrome, baseplate...

There is only 1 more issue of the Journal to come out 'before' Vancouver so I must use this forum to get people moving. I still have nearly a dozen people on our list of those who were 'very interested' in attending but have yet to contact Mike or I. Time is getting short. With the assistance of Bill Kraus, Tom Abrahamsson and Bob Rotoloni, I'm in the final process of compiling a "group" Con-11 e-mail list comprising of those members who either attended Con-10 (Vienna) and/or have shown interest in attending the upcoming Con-11 in Vancouver in April. We have approximately 3 1/2 months to go..... After adding these e-mail addresses, I'm estimating that the list will comprise of more than 80 names. While I realize that attendance...

Looking at my calander today I noticed that there are exactly 6 months to go before Con-11 begins in Vancouver! While I have many smaller details to finalize...and am working to Bob Rotoloni on the agenda, etc.....I would strongly suggest that if you'e proposing to attend...to make your travel plans.....especially booking your accomodation at the Sheraton Wall Center Hotel. When you do so, make sure to advise the hotel staff that you'll be part of the Nikon Historical Society..in...

Since the receipt of Journal NHS-97 I have brokered a better deal for Convention attendees at the Sheraton Wall Center Hotel in Vancouver. Whereas the latest Journal states: "The special convention rate ($175.00 Cdn.) is available for 3 days on either side of the meeting (Tueday April 15th-Tuesday April 22nd)" Here is the content of Heather Coyle's confirmation e-mail she sent to me yesterday:

I have recently arranged with an outfit "Harbor Cruises and Events" to provide a sightseeing and dinner cruise on the final evening of the convention. Normally this company doesn't begin its season until May 1st, but when I advised them of the projected numbers....she said she would arrange a cruise fro our group.
