Hello, especially to the Japanese native speakers!
I am discussing with Roland Vink the identifications of Nikon lenses for the Nikon F mount. The first lenses are called 'A' lenses, probably referring
to the 'automatic aperture', which was a sophisticated feature in those days (1960's). The next generation of lenses are called the 'C'
lenses, (again) probably referring to the coating used on all elements in all lenses. Then there are the 'K'-lenses,...

The S3 I purchased a number of months ago on ebay finally arrived this weekend when my good friend came up from the States for a visit. I'm curious to know
if serial number versus date of manufacture tables exist for the rangefinders (similar to those for the various Nikon SLRs).
This camera has serial number 6300737, which ( I believe ) makes it a reasonably early one in the production series. Can anyone give me some insight as to
when it was produced?

Please and thank you.

I recently bought a lens from a Nikon Integrated Circuit stepper machine on ebay. As far as I can tell, it is approximately 125mm fl and is f 1.2, based on
the 106mm diameter front. I have access to a CNC lathe, so I machined a focussing helicoid for it to attach to my D200. I'm an engineer, not a machinist,
so I was impressed that a) I made what I wanted b) I didn't cut off any body parts or break the lathe c) was able to cut a helicoid thread with 10 threads
running in parallel,...
